Many pay over $20,000 a year, and millions more live in a “Child Care Desert” and have no local options at all.  Meanwhile, salaries for preschool teachers have been stagnant for years, and many earn just over minimum wage.  

Parents are paying a fortune, but preschool teachers are earning peanuts. At NeighborSchools, we know there’s a better way.

 
 

We’re on a mission to create a better, more equitable, child care system; one that prioritizes the needs of young children, working parents, and childcare providers.  

We help child care experts open and operate licensed home daycares.  

Each woman* we partner with opens her own small daycare, creating a sustainable career for herself and bringing quality, affordable child care back into her neighborhood.  In partnering with NeighborSchools, many women are able to double their income while providing child care that is 30% more affordable than center-based programs.  

Our online platform and world-class customer success team helps with licensing, setup and business operations, freeing up our partners to focus on what they do best: nurturing and caring for young children.

In 2018 we founded NeighborSchools with the belief that technology startups can and should be a vehicle for social progress. We quickly received backing from both top tier venture capitalists and leading social impact investors.  Recently recognized as a “50 On Fire” startup to watch, we’re rapidly expanding our team in our Boston, MA headquarters and have audacious goals for 2020 and beyond.
